This seems like it is a monumental task - it will be interesting to see if we can pull it off!

I think integrating environmental goals into the ocean strategy is essential - I just hope they don't fall to the back burner when considered alongside economic and social goals.

Considering how much the oceans actually do for humans, i think it's about time humans start doing something for the oceans. Its good to hear that so many groups and individuals are trying to help and maintain the marine environment. its the least they can do considering how much they help and make easier human life. I just hope they stick to the plan and continue coming up with ideas that will benefit the oceans

Natalie, I think that monumental is an understatement!
The oceans are such a huge part of our planet, and we are only now beginnning to see how important they are, and how much they are affected by human activities. We really know very little about the oceans, and I think it's important to keep that in mind when developing any kind of management strategy. We should embrace this uncertainty and invest in trying to learn more, rather than pretending to understand more than we do.
