I have 29 tickets to see Sharkwater at Park Lane Theatre tomorrow night at 7 pm.
Let me know if you are interested, and we will talk about this in class in some detail tomorrow.
Tuesday, March 6, 2007 7 pm at the Park Lane Cinema on Spring Garden Rd.
Rob Stewart will be in attendance leading a Q&A at the end of the film.
Sharkwater is a documentary film by award-winning wildlife photographer Rob Stewart. A young biologist, fascinated by sharks since he was a kid, Rob set out to make a documentary that would debunk the myths surrounding sharks as indiscriminate killers perpetuated by Hollywood movies like Jaws. In the process, he stumbled onto a trillion-dollar black market industry involving the illegal sale of shark fins. With beautiful underwater cinematography best seen on the big screen, Sharkwater brings attention to the heartbreaking plight of a 400 million year old species that survived five mass distinctions but may be wiped out in a few years by humankind.
Winner of the People's Choice Award, Atlantic International Film Festival AND MORE! For more information and to see the trailer visit: http://www.sharkwater.com

I have recommended this doc to all my friends and classmates - I have sent the link to the trailer to a ton of people and I've gotten great feedback - they're pumped to see it!
It was a great film and truly opened my eyes to the issues surrounding sharks, such as finning. Also the cinematic experiance was awesome and I believe will very much help get the ideas across. A great step in the right direction.
I still haven't seen this movie yet. Hopefully it's still in theatres over Easter, so I can have a good study break.
