I can't wait to see what Baird has to say about Gore's correction. I think the Tories should figure out that Gore's views aren't in the same ballpark as theirs.
As a result of the Tories' indefensible innnaction on climate change, here's a proposed Act by the NDP. They actually look to reduce greenhouse gas emmissions! Imagine that! Also note their goal to reduce our 1990 emmissions by 80% by 2050. Tell your parents.

It's great that Gore corrected Baird, but I think it would help if more people spoke out more directly about the Tories' inaction. I believe it was a liberal environment critic who put Baird in the hot seat last week and showed the nation how little the tories have actually done. If this sort of political embarassment on environmental issues continues, the NDP should have lots of ammunititon for the next election.

Lord Gore is unimpressed. It looks good on our federal government.

Despite the usual political rhetoric and their claims of having a new "green plan", the tories' are sitting on their hands. They will spend more money on discrediting Dion and keeping the Liberals out of power than attempting to enact any positive, real measures in reducing ghg emissions.
Some apparent good news though, the BC government has produced a "West Coast Green Plan" which has been compared to the fairly strict California standards, and Arnie endorses the plan as well. It will be interesting to see where this leads. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/british-columbia/story/2007/02/14/bc-green-reax.html

Our government should began taking the environment more seriously, so whatever or whoever it takes to get the ball rolloing will be well rewarded.

I agree...I don't think it matters who points fingers at who, just as long as everyone comes to an agreement that there is a problem and be active in creating and applying a solution.
